Pastor

Called by God, I am extremely blessed to be the shepherd for the great people of First Baptist Canton. In looking back at my life and call into the ministry, I see God‘s hand each step of the way. I grew up in Vicksburg and later moved to Texas as a teen, followed by a move back to Mississippi as a college student at Mississippi College, where I met my wife, Tommi. After graduation, I attended Southwest Theological Seminary while working in youth ministry. After graduating with a Master’s Degree in Theology, my wife and I served youth and families for 16 years before becoming a pastor. We are blessed to have two sons of our own, Sy and Ely. I enjoy spending my free time watching my boys play baseball as well as hunting, fishing, and pulling for the Dallas Cowboys!

Music Minister

It has been my joy for many years to use my talents and my calling to lead God’s children in worship. I love to lead them in songs that will bring praise to God while at the same time convict the hearts of those who do not know Him as Lord and Savior. I also love to teach and bring out the talents of others in order for them to be of service in worship to our Lord. Along with the music worship of FBC, I have the wonderful pleasure of working with our senior adults. This is always a ministry area that brings fun, laughter, and joy as I receive wisdom from their years spent with the Lord.

Minister of Students

I was born in Madison, Mississippi, and went to Mississippi College, where I graduated in May 2015. I am currently working on my Masters of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I enjoy most outdoor activities, including hunting, mountain biking, and most team sports. Best of all, I am married to Maegan, and have a son named Cash. We are both excited to be serving students here at First Baptist Church Canton. I believe God has equipped me with a love for teaching and equipping people to live their lives for the Kingdom of God. I have been at FBCC since 2015, and the people here are amazing. So, if you are a student, and wish to get involved, look at our Ministries page to see when you can come hang out! See you soon!
