Student Ministry

Did Jesus ever try to sport the "young man" beard? You know, it's when the splotchy peach fuzz hasn't fully grown into the "real man" grizzle. It's the age when everything is cloudy, yet the world is small and at one's fingertips. The girls and boys giggle at each other, and then all of a sudden something happens and the giggles turn to late night phone calls and movie dates - sworn enemies turned into attractive friends. If there's ever a time where more curious fervor fills the air, it's during the age of youth. The sad thing is we don't know very much about Christ's youth age contextually in the Word. But what we do know about Christ's youth is enough to guide and teach us. Luke 2 says that young Christ spent time in the temple courts sitting among the teachers. He listened and asked questions. He sought for understanding and found it and then posed great answers, all the while amazing and encouraging those that were watching Him. The student ministry of First Baptist Canton endeavor to server as little Christs to our friends and families. May we grow in wisdom and stature just like Jesus did. May we, as young people, "set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity: 1 Timothy 4:12.
We pray for spiritual awakening and revival, may it start with those that are closest to the ground!
